Cooperation with organisations and sickness funds of other countries
Between the all-Ukrainian citizens’ organization «Association of workers’ sickness funds of Ukraine» and the «Federal association of local health insurance funds of Germany » (AOK Bundesverband) has been signed a joint declaration in on cooperation in health care within the framework of the existing cooperation agreement between the health ministers of Germany and Ukraine.
More than ten years of experience confirm that in the present socio-economic situation in Ukraine, the sickness funds have the most developed structures for improving the access to health care and diagnostic services for the population in case of need. This establishes the basis on which it is possible to reform the health care system, using practical field knowledge and drawing on experience from other countries.
Representatives from the board of directors of the “Association of workers’ sickness funds Ukraine” participated in several European Union financed TACIS health care reform projects in Ukraine, such as „Health Management and Financing “, Support to the Development of a System of Medical Standards”, and „Support to Secondary Health Care Reform” . The valuable experience and knowledge from these projects has been implemented in the practical work of some of the sickness funds of the association.
