p>June 19, 2010. The First Deputy Head of the Kyiv city state administration Alexander Popov intends to initiate health reforms in the capital. On June 18 he told in the TV broadcast ?Big politics of Evgeniye Kiselyov? on Inter TV channel that initiatives, which are aimed to improve health care in Kiev will be supported by him, and that there will be a lot of them. In particular, the deputy head considers it to be necessary to introduce an institute for family physicians who, in his eyes, will impact the reduction of hospitalised Kiev citizens, who apply to inpatient health care facilities. Popov also pointed out, that he is going to propose initiatives to the Kiev city council for considering the establishment of a municipal sickness fund for the socially disadvantaged citizens from Kiev providing health insurance coverage in case of emergency care. In his opinion, it is moreover necessary to reform health care by implementing health insurance or something that is similar to it.

p>June 14, 2010. The officials of the Ministry of Health once again make efforts to restrict the flow of out-off pocket payments given to physicians. Instead, they aim to provide higher wages to medical staff and a qualitative better treatment for patients. These possible changes may get only visible by introducing health insurance. There are only a few years ahead to implement the promise.

June 10. 2010. Poltava. During a meeting between V.D. Pariy and L.F. Kuroedov, the chairman of the sickness fund of Poltava region, there were issues discussed such as the perspectives of the capacity building and development of sickness funds and the preparation of a joint conference with representatives from the German health care system including the AOK, the local sickness funds from Germany. The conference is planned to take place in autumn 2010.
June 1, 2010 ? V.D. Pariy held a speech at the main assembly of the regional state health care administration of Ivano-Frankivsk. The topics presented were the development of the health care system in the region and the introduction of an approved list of pharmaceuticals. V.D. Pariy also presented the advantages of the work of sickness funds in the current financial situation of the health care system. More than 100 chief physicians and their deputies took part in the assembly.
May 27, 2010. Zhytomyr. Ways of reforming health care were discussed at the All-Ukrainian meeting of the heads of the health care facilities, on which participated the Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine and Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Volodymyr Seminozhenko, the Minister of Health, Zynoviy Mytnyk, the heads of the regional state health care administrations, chief physicians of the Oblast and Rayon hospitals, and leading health care experts. At this meeting Olexander K. Tolstanov presented the work of the charitable organization ?Sickness fund of Zhytomyr region?. The title of his presentation was ?Sickness fund ? an instrument of reforming health care?.
On May 25 and 26, 2010 V.D. Pariy had a working visit to Kherson and spoke to approximately 50 ?chief physicians and their deputies from the Oblast and the rayon hospitals. Following topics were discussed in the meeting: introduction of sickness funds and its integration into the health care system, process of reforming health care in the regions, approved list of pharmaceuticals, medical standards and clinical guidelines.
